It has been one beast of a process, but we are nearly there! There are no less than 7 people from 3 different post-production teams working on the film now. We’re SUPER excited to be making great progress working with the Oscar-Nominated Academy of Art STUDIO X VFX team on some complex sequences and underwater fixes. Just met with Catherine and Sasha today (seen in this video,) as well as team lead, Melina Cuffaro, Suzanne, Peri, and all talented students on the team….It takes a village!
Specifically, and without giving too much away, Studio X (credits include Beast of the Southern Wild, Fruitvale Station, Theeb) is working on a complex modeling project involving the Locket prop. and another sequence that is sure to WOW you! Check out what they do in this short video:
In tandem with VFX, our ULTRA talented Sound Designer, Bijan Sharifi (seen in the main post photo above) of Berkeley Sound is prepping files, cleaning dialogue, and preparing for the mix (currently scheduled for Mid-April.) We’d like to mention more about what he is up to…but it’s TOP SECRET! 😉 More on Bijan and our work with him later!
What CAN be mentioned: we got into the studio and recorded a 1930’s tune that will be included in the film. Fantastic vocalist, Madeline Tasquin and Incredibly talented Allison Lovejoy came together at Dan Cantrell’s Studio on Oakland to record. Here is a sneak peak at what we are up to!
We are now live at FILM FREEWAY and will be submitting Works in Progress (WIP) shortly to festivals. Make sure to sign up for the quarterly newsletter to see exclusive Behind-the-Scenes videos and photos as well as get invited to all the screenings as we slide into homebase and beyond!
