‘Camille Cousteau’ – The Lady Starts Scuba Certification!

As part of our ongoing commitment to give you the best film in the history of films, Camille has accepted the challenge of getting certified with Dive Master Jim Steele in Oakland! After the Tahoe trip, it became apparent that certification would prove invaluable to Camille's performance. With the gracious and generous support of Steele's Scuba (on telegraph ave,) Camille will be sea worthy in about 5 weeks of training.  Send her well wishes below!   A special thanks to Dive Master Jim and Sue for their continued support of this epic project!!

62 Degrees of Separation

Hello friends! We're just back from Fallen Leaf Lake and our first 'wide-shot' open water test with Camille. Having made contact with the local 'keeper of the dock' (the kind Mike Basso,) we checked in with him and ran our first test. Suffice to say that 62 degree water was a little shocking for Camille (as it would be for most in an ankle length gown.) One factor I forgot to estimate was the altitude (6000') which shortened her breath, and hence, our underwater time. We were able to get shots of approximately 3-4 seconds before having to resurface. Ever closer…

In the ever-unfolding process of the film, we have started the process of bringing on crew and location scouting! The next three months are going to bring momentum and a slide into home plate! From this point forward, you will see updates on securing locations, script breakdowns, final casting, and scheduling notices. The dream is becoming a reality. In my musings with friends and family, I liken this project to giving birth. Since I have made the decision not to have offspring, "Life and the Lady" is my child. 2015 – Full Steam Ahead!

I am very excited to be moving forward on a project that is truly a labor of love! Welcome aboard to seasoned cinematographer, Paul Nordin, and stay tuned for the crew and cast roster to grow! The script has been finalized (which was the biggest hurdle,) and has been copyright processed with the US copyright office. I finally had to "take the breath," and can tell you that this process has been much like what the main character has had to go through.
