In the ever-unfolding process of the film, we have started the process of bringing on crew and location scouting! The next three months are going to bring momentum and a slide into home plate! From this point forward, you will see updates on securing locations, script breakdowns, final casting, and scheduling notices. The dream is becoming a reality.
In my musings with friends and family, I liken this project to giving birth. Since I have made the decision not to have offspring, “Life and the Lady” is my child. Nothing can go forward without the birth of this child, and I am committed to making this happen and beginning shooting in September.
This has been one of the hardest creative projects I have ever taken on, but it is story that HAS to get told. When I interviewed Linda Ronstadt a couple of years ago (for the release of her memoire,) I asked her “how do you decide how/when you want to sing?” She replied “When I find a song, it’s like – if I don’t sing it, I’ll DIE!” That is precisely how I feel with this project. It is the deep yearning of a “message” that I need to deliver, that only I can. Such responsibility.
